Not Welcome Here Until You Behave
In order for Brits to perform here, you need 2 things: a work Visa and the blessing of the American Federation Of Musicians. Ray, known to be puganious at times (on and off the stage), rilled up the ole boy AFM and they pulled their work permits after this brief tour/TV appearances.

The Kinks wouldn't perform in concert in the US again until Oct 17-18, 1969 at the Fillmore East—4 years later. This was after Ray had to kiss the ring of the AFM in LA that spring.

Dramatized Version

For the 50th anniversary, BBC Radio presented a dramatization of Arthur, which explains a lot (hurry, limited time offer TOO LATE!). The story of the Davies family and why Rose moved to Australia. Co-written by Sir Ray and Paul Sirett, with songs from the album and some newer versions. Sometimes available on You Tube .

The Kinks rate two Post 71 Extras!
First up is the spring 72 double-lp annotated by that Konsumate Kinks Konnoisseur, John Mendelsohn (full liner notes here ). Besides some familiar hits, there are B-sides galore. This was followed a year later by The Great Lost Kinks Album (more rarities and a copy of which you should have on your shelf, too).

Next up is a half live/half studio release. The live stuff (from March 72 at Carnegie Hall) is pretty good, and the studio side contains songs about life on the road. It also features the classic Celluloid Heroes (the prime reason for its being here).
