Idea started at the great "piano drop" on April 28, with Country Joe & The Fish providing entertainment. Friday was nice, but Saturday's rain storm turned the event into a mud-fest. Grateful Dead showed up to end the event.

A follow-up event was held in 1969. In 1970 they moved to Washougal and it lasted from August 28 to September 8. Things did not go smoothly for Sky River Three . The last was in 1971, billed as "The Satsop River Fair and Tin Cup Races." See 1971 for the link.
