Sailing To Success

Randy had been composing and arranging music since the dawn of rock ' roll (The Fleetwoods recorded one of his songs in 1962). Musicians in the know loved Randy and his songs (see the list of covers below, particularly Harry Nilsson). But he just couldn't break into the best-seller list.

This album wasn't a giant leap up the charts (topping out at #163), but opened many more doors for him. His uniquely satirically songs touched the FM crowd and from this album on, his success was established.

He Gives Us All His Love was wriiten for the movie Cold Turkey (and it's a different recording)
Lonely at the Top was written with Frank Sinatra in mind (he never recorded it, a shame)
