Early December, 1971. Mark II arrives in Switzerland to record Machine Head at the world famous Montreux Casino . On Dec 4, an idiot with a flare gun shoots it during a Mothers Of Invention concert and the joint burns down. They ended up recording in hallways at the Grand Hotel de Territet (it was closed at the time). And that's what Smoke On The Water was all about.
